Ike's Fury
Hurricane Gustav brought tons of rain to us recently, but it was Ike that brought crazy winds and some damage at the Glasgow homestead. Roaring winds kept me up most of the night, but Clay was only awakened when the winds were horribly ferocious, and Gracie....well, she slept like a baby through the whole thing! Our power went out around 2:45 a.m. but was restored while we were at church Sunday. Sunday morning my neighbor, Mrs. Betty called and told me to look out my garage door. This was what we saw in our driveway. Thank goodness our cars were in the garage! Thankfully it was only a pine and not one of our beloved oak trees. Our neighbor, Mr. George, helped Clay cut back some of the branches so we could get our cars out and go to church. It's hard to tell from the picture, but this is where the tree was uprooted. We are so thankful the tree fell in the driveway and did not in any way cause damage to our home or our neighbor's home. Thank you God for your protection!
