My Little Girl

"And in this corner, baby girl Glasgow has her gloves on, and is ready to get into the ring..." Love those lips! Man she's cute! Like mother like daughter....I did the same thing when I was her age. More tummy time....looking good! Loving the bumbo! Tired of the bumbo! Sabs came and laid down next to Gracie when I left the room the other day. They're going to be such good friends!

Tummy Time!

We are striving to do more and more tummy time each day. Tummy time has not been one of Gracie's favorite activities, but it isn't quite the all out cry-fest it used to be. We had 15 minutes this morning, a few tears, but some fun too.

Sabrina joined us for tummy time when she heard the rattle and squeaks of Gracie's toys.
Alright! A smile during tummy time!"I could teach this kid a thing or two....."Trying to fall asleep during tummy time.

Just being cute

I just started putting Gracie in "real clothes (as opposed to onesies)" and we're having so much fun playing dress up! This cute outfit is a gift from Kathy How. Gracie has definitely found her hand, and likes to suck on it all the time, but just a couple of nights ago she found her thumb! So precious! Just chillin' and checking out her feet :)

The Cleaning Olympics

Are you keeping up with the Olympics this year? I've only watched a little, but in the spirit of the Olympics, I designed "The Cleaning Olympics," to help me do some mega-quick cleaning while Gracie naps. You see, PG (pre-Gracie) I would spend hours on Saturday cleaning house, and crazy as it sounds I LOVED IT! Now that Gracie has arrived, I don't have hours to spare on Saturdays, so I try to do a little each day. Today I was feeling rather lazy, and would have loved to nap with Gracie, so I designed an Olympic style game to spur me on. This is how it worked. I gave myself 1 hour to fulfill a gargantuan list of chores. If I was to complete my list (including dusting, windexing, vacuuming, sweeping, and steam mopping), I got the gold. And so, I began. I gave myself extra credit for not taking shortcuts, and at the end of the hour, I had dusted and windexed, but had also vacuumed all the den furniture, and so, though the floors remain untouched, I gave myself a silver.

If you didn't think I was a little goofy before you read this, now you know for sure that I am. But my house is cleaner, and I have a silver medal. Well, okay, I don't, but my house is cleaner. Now it's time to wake the babe and give her lunch. After that it's off to Nanny's house to hang out. And when we return....the floors...in 30 minutes for the gold.

Baby pictures to come soon. The real reason you are on my blog. :)

Fun Times With the Fam

We got together with both sides of the family this weekend. Mimi and Papa (C's parents) were in town for a conference and Uncle David (J's brother) and Aunt Elizabeth came down for a birthday celebration. David and Nana have August birthdays and so we had a birthday lunch. Clay made some delicious bone-in grilled chicken along with fresh veggies from the Green Tree Nursery on Rodney Parham (I highly recommend it!). It was fabulous to spend time with all our family--we are so blessed! And mommy and daddy enjoyed a break as Gracie was passed around and around.

Here is some cute video of Uncle David, Aunt Elizabeth, and Gracie.

We are so grateful to have spent an evening with the Burns family. They are missionaries in Dubai and were home visiting family and raising support to go back. We were encouraged by their visit. If you are interested in giving to this family, let us know and we can get you all the information you need.

Here is Gracie "sitting up." Although she doesn't look so happy in this pic, it's amazing how already she wants to be up more and not just rocked in your arms (although she still loves to cuddle, especially when she's sleepy!).
And here is Gracie falling over.

Mommy is so happy! Baby girl ate at 10:00 and woke up at 6:00! We are loving this new routine!

Our Busy Weekend

Our little family had a busy but fun weekend! Friday night Clay and I sang at my friend Beth's wedding. The wedding was at the beautiful Garvan Gardens glass chapel. Nana came along to Gracie-sit. I was so proud because I didn't hear a peep out of our girl during the wedding! Afterwards, mom said she had to take Gracie out at the very beginning of the wedding because she was beginning to stir. Oh well. They went over to the bridal suite and Gracie played and had a grand old time. Nana did too! By the way, isn't Beth beautiful? It was such an honor to sing in her wedding. She is a special friend to me, and our times together are always so sweet!

Saturday we ran errands and had Aunt Dana and Uncle Matt over for dinner. Saturday night Clay put Gracie in her nightgown--so cute!

Sunday Gracie and mommy went to DeValls Bluff First Baptist, where my dad is pastor. After lunch, Gracie played with her great-grandmother, my nanny. Nanny has alzheimers, but when she is around Gracie, something clicks, and we get a rare moment of her old self. Nanny worked in her church nursery for years and all that time with babies comes back when she is around Gracie. It is absolutely beautiful, and I'm so glad I had my camera.

Funny Pics

Here are some cute pics of The Grace Child. Here she is napping with me and then in her cute bathrobe after a bath! We call her white onesies her "comfies" and I just love her in them! I like her in all white because you get to see how pretty she is without the distraction of ribbons and bow (although I do like those too!). We've found that daddy's finger makes such a good pacifier! And she doesn't spit it out like she does the real ones. And then here she is with her super cute bib on. I love my baby!

All the Latest

Lots has been happening at the Glasgow household! Nana (J's mom) came by to see Gracie and to give us a jogging stroller! Some very sweet ladies at their church bought it for us, and we can't wait to use it!
Grandaddy (J's dad) came by before work the other day too. He loves his granddaughter! Gracie had her first family dinner out on the town! This is us at Izzy's--Gracie loved the milkshake (later of course :) We took a short road trip to show Gracie our land. It has become totally overgrown, but I think it's still kinda pretty.
Where's Waldo? Actually, where's the little bunny? Can you find him?

All Smiles

Gracie was smiling like crazy this afternoon, and I was able to catch one of her big grins in this video. She's so pretty!

You know you're a mom if...

  1. You see nothing wrong with holding your baby's diapered bottom to your nose and wondering out loud..."did you potty?"
  2. The tune you're humming came from your baby's musical swing.
  3. Getting 4 hours of sleep in a row is refreshing!
  4. Around 2 in the afternoon you realize you haven't eaten lunch.
  5. Despite lack of sleep, healing, and making multiple adjustments, you thank God every day for this sweet, beautiful, innocent little babe He has entrusted to you.
Do you have a good one? Post a comment!
